I have two new poems available in the Autumn 2021 issue of 3rd Wednesday. You can find the poems here, pp. 41-42. ‘Obol for the Boatman’ was inspired by a friend who picked me up for a drive in the country and got me thinking about Odysseus. ‘When the Baby Wakes’ comes from the pure exhaustion of new parenthood.
The journal was brought to my attention by an editor, Phillip Sterling, who previously taught at Ferris State. I reached out to him after reading some of his work that knocked me out of my chair, and though we’ve never met in person (thanks, pandemic), it’s neat when unforeseen connections lead to new opportunities.
