I have a new short story out with the very cool Cowboy Jamboree Magazine. Aside from being a top shelf name for a journal, Cowboy Jamboree has the distinct honor of being the only literary magazine on earth that focuses exclusively on “grit lit” which is right in my wheel house.
My story “Blood Test” is included in the Country & Folk themed issue, and as it was very loosely inspired by the Arlo McKinley song “Die Midwestern” it seemed like a good fit. The story is about a man who goes to a medical clinic for an illness and has a profound experience. If I tell you any more, I’ll give it away. It’s flash (read: short), so it won’t take too long if you’d like to give it a read.
