The Duke and Jack Ridl

One of my favorite poets, Jack Ridl, and I have had a long correspondence. Though we’ve never met in-person, as Michigan transplants, writers, and educators who also spent formative time in Pittsburgh, we have more in common than meets the eye. Jack was kind enough to blurb my first poetry collection, Yeoman’s Work, and I was able to partially return the favor and recommend his many poetry collections and video commentary series to anyone who will listen. You can find Jack, his books, and my recommendation on his website here.

In his long-running video series, the Sentimentalist, Jack was kind enough to mention my book in his Feb. 27 post, “If It Didn’t Exist, I Wouldn’t Miss It.” Check it out, and follow Jack for a weekly dose of necessary candor, poetry, and sentimentality. I can’t recommend him enough.
